RAF Mildenhall

Back To Mildenhall 2010 Photo Reports Menu

22/04/10

This was the first full day of air activity in the UK following the Volcanic Ash from Iceland closing all of the UK airspace for 5 days along with most of the rest of Europe.

Expectations weren't high but the weather was fine and I was free......

The first visitor to arrive was very late in the day but was a nice one a Navy C-130, unfortunately runway 29 was in use and the aircraft turned off well short and so photo ops were limited. It was however my first Navy Herk seen at the Mildenhall so was happy enough from an otherwise quite day.
