When is an MC-130H not an MC-130H ? When it's carrying air 2 air refuelling pods ?
What I believe makes these news worthy is the fact the aircraft is now carrying Air-2-Air refuelling pods normally the MC-130H doesn't carry them only the MC-130P as far as I am aware. These refuelling pods are different also to the ones currently being used by the 67th SOS at RAF Mildenhall
The aircraft returned to Mildenhall as Breeze51 on the 21st March having been on refit in the US. Today it was operating as TALON73 a call sign associated with the 7th SOS of the 352SOG.
